The Quality Hotel Downtown is on the Corner of King Edward and Rideau (several blocks north of Laurier): 290 Rideau Street,  Ottawa, ON K1N 5Y3     (Phone)  613-789-7511).  We have reserved some rooms at the rate of $97/night. Ask for Group Number 106256 (U.O. Math Department). Must be booked by March 27.
Parking: $9.50/night hotel rate (or see bottom of this page). Short walk (12 minutes) to math dept.

Cartier Place Suite Hotel is across the Laurier Bridge (over the Canal), on Cooper and Elgin
(180 Cooper St)., Ph; 613-236-5000.  These are modern apartment suites, with all cooking facilities. We have not reserved anything, but you are welcome to ask for the University/Government Rate and see what happens. Last year's rates were roughly 1 bedroom @ $112/night, two bedroom @ $149/night, plus tax.

Directions to the campus and Campus Parking:

From the airport, by taxi. The ride costs about $27. From the airport, by bus. From the airport, take bus 97 to the "Laurier" bus stop. From there it is a short walk to campus (see the area map above)  For your orientation, you can also consult the transitway map on the right. From the train station, by bus. You take bus 95 from the train station to the "Laurier" bus stop (number 12 on the above area and campus maps). The ride takes only about 10 minutes. You can find the #95 bus schedules here. By car. From highway 417 (Queensway), take exit 118 marked "Nicholas St". This will put you on the above area map. If you come from the East (Montreal direction), keep to the right, go straight and you immediately are on King Edward and Mann, going North. Coming from the West (Toronto direction), just follow Nicholas St. At Laurier, turn right and you will come to King Edward in 2 blocks. Parking around U. Ottawa can be difficult (although weekends are easier). We can obtain weekend parking stickers for the lot behind the Math Dept. (Friday--Sunday) outdoors for around $15.00. Write P.Scott in advance to order a parking sticker! Or the University has a Parking Garage at the south end of King Edward, corner of King Edward and Mann Ave. for around $12.00/day, open 24 hours.
