The Community Food Share Kitchen is for families on a low fixed
income, who need to stretch their food budget. The participants
meet to share recipes (including wild meats) and participate in
food preparation; they then take home nutritious meals to their
families at a very low cost. Day care is provided. Meetings are
usually held on the third week of the month when money is running
low to help families get along until money is available. Everyone
involved in this community kitchen plays a role in budgeting,
cooking or planning the menu. This community kitchen promotes
networking and self-development.
