Judy Mill, RN, PhD
Dr. Mill has extensive
clinical experience in community health nursing in Canada and sub-Saharan
Africa; she has specialized in the prevention and control of infectious
diseases. Judy has taught courses in community health nursing, nursing
management, nursing theory and qualitative research methods.
Judy's program in research
is focused on the broad social, economic and cultural factors that
influence the spread of infectious diseases, in particular HIV infection.
Her research program includes the development and evaluation of
multiple interventions to decrease the spread of infectious diseases
in vulnerable populations. Current research projects (in review)
include "The Influence of Stigma on Access to Appropriate Health
Services for Marginalized Groups" and "Challenging Lifestyles--Aboriginal
Men and Women Living with HIV". Judy is currently working with
Dr. Donald Sutherland, a decision-making partner in the Bureau of
HIV/AIDS, STD and TB at Health Canada.
