A Brief Background
Since September 1st, 2005, I have been a Lecturer in
Mathematical Sciences at Oxford Brookes
University.
Teaching at Brookes 2005/06:

University of Rome,
"Tor Vergata", visiting Professor John Roberts, on the European Commission
Research Network "Quantum Spaces - Noncommutative Geometry".
- October 2004 - April 2005: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the
University of Rome, "La Sapienza", visiting Professor
Sergio Doplicher, on the European Commission Network "Quantum Spaces -
Noncommutative Geometry".
- October 2001 - September 2004: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of
Mathematics at the
University of Ottawa, Canada, visiting Professors
Thierry Giordano and David Handelman.
- Spring/Summer 2002, 2003 and 2004, and Winter 2004: Part-time Professor
at the
Department of Mathematics, University of Ottawa, teaching "Linear Algebra",
"Mathematical Methods" and "Vector Algebra and Discrete Mathematics" (twice).
- September 2000 - June 2001: Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the
Department of Mathematics,
University of Rome, "La Sapienza", visiting Professor Sergio Doplicher, on the
European Commission Network "Geometric Analysis".
- July 2000: PhD in Operator Algebras at the Department of Mathematics of
the University of Wales, Swansea.
Thesis title, "Quasi-Free Maps of the CAR, Cuntz and Pimsner
Algebras", and research supervisor, Professor David
Evans (now based at
the School of
Mathematics at Cardiff University).
- October 1994 - May 2000: Teaching Assistant at the University of Wales,
Swansea, in
Mathematical Methods, Calculus for Engineers, Real Analysis, Probability, Group Theory,
Linear Algebra.
- July 1994: Completed undergraduate studies at the University of
Wales, Swansea,
obtaining BSc. Degree with First Class Honours in Pure Mathematics.
Awarded the University Prize for finishing as top student of the year in the
Mathematics Department.
Research
My research is in the field of Operator Algebras. I am especially interested in
general C*-algebra theory, C*-algebras associated with q-commutation relations,
graph algebras and C*-algebras arising from symbolic dynamical systems, quantum
groups (in an operator algebraic setting), E0-semigroups.
