Mathematics Problem Solving

William Lowell Putnam Competition training classes

The William Lowell Putnam Competition is held in December of every year, written by thousands, "passed" by a scant few. The problems are either impossible, or would take years to solve --- or so it seems at first. In our class I'll show you some of the techniques you can use to solve these problems.

Each fall, we hold weekly "training sessions" to give you a chance to see the kinds of problems and hone your skills... and have some fun. Email me (jlevy@uottawa.ca) to be included on the mailing list with information about the competition and our classes.

We meet every Tuesday at 11:30 in room FTX 315 (note room change)
