This site was originally created by Elizabeth Campbell (©CAMPBELL 1998) for a session entitled "Critical Thinking and the Web: Evaluating and Citing Web Sites" presented in collaboration with Dr. Erin McCarthy (Department of Philosophy, St. Lawrence University, N.Y.) at the 1998 Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education conference.
Its success prompted similar workshops to be held within the Teaching/Learning Workshop series offered by the Centre for University Teaching at the University of Ottawa:

This
workshop was offered to graduate students on October 20th, 1999 in the Mitel Data Analysis
Centre thanks to the University of Ottawa's Institute of Canadian
Studies and the Centre for University
Teaching.
It was offered once again at the Mitel Data Analysis Centre on March 14,
2001 and open to all those affiliated with the Institute of Canadian
Studies. Held in collaboration with the Centre
for University Teaching.
This workshop was also offered at La
Cité collégiale on May 31, 2000 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
