My research is on mechanisms of foraging behaviour: how animals do what they do. Species studied include bumble bees, pigeons, ferrets, and hummingbirds. My work addresses questions in animal cognition and learning, for example how animals recognize visual patterns, encode spatial variables, time events, and make important discriminations in their natural environment.
