Volunteers

Volunteers are a vital part of our lab community. Each year we rely on volunteers to aid us in tasks such as coding, transcribing, and child care. However, there are limited positions and unfortunately we can not accept everyone who applies. If you are interesting in becoming a volunteer at the Childhood Cognition and Learning Laboratory, please fill out the form below and submit it to our lab. Eligible applicants will be contacted for an interview.

Description of tasks

1. Coding

Coding involves reviewing DVDs of studies conducted at the lab and assigning scores to them based on a pre-determined coding scheme.

2. Transcribing

Transcribing includes reproducing word-for-word interactions between parent/researcher and child from a pre-recorded session.

3. Sib-sitting

Sib-sitting encompasses looking after the siblings of children that participate in our studies. Parents often bring more than one child with them to the lab and appreciate someone caring for their other child so they can either participate in, or watch, the study.

If you want to volunteer at the CCLL please fill out the volunteer form.
